Baptism
Matthew 3:16
John 3:23
Acts
We believe the first ordinance of the church is baptism, and that it takes four requirements to have scriptural baptism.
1. The candidate – an individual who upon hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ, being convicted by the Holy Spirit, and trust and put their faith in God, and is saved by God’s grace.
2. Baptism by immersion- the complete immersion of the candidate in water, representing the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and His raising from the grave on the third day. 3. The authority – given by God . The church being one of those that he gave the great commission too, and that has held on to the practices and doctrines of the scriptures down through the ages. 4. The administrator – a Minister that has been saved by the grace of God, been called by the divine calling of God to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, been ordained and been given authority by the l church to baptize individuals into the body of the church.
We believe the second ordinance of the church is the Lord’s Supper (Communion), that it has two elements, bread and fruit of the vine, that it is observed by the church, on the 1st Sunday of each month. In order to partake of Communion you must have been Baptized and be a member of a church. I Corinthians 11:26; Matthew 26:26 The Bread: we believe the bread shows symbolically the broken and crucified body of our Lord in His death on I Corinthians 11:23-24; Luke 22:19; Mark The Fruit of the Vine: we believe the fruit of the vine represents symbolically the blood of Jesus Christ that He gave freely for our sins on I Corinthians 11:25; Luke 22:19; Mark 14:24-26; Mathew 26:27-30
